record snow in Albuquerque

December 30th, 2006

I was just told that the snow we have received, over the past couple days, is record snowfall for the metro area. SWEET! That is pretty cool, in my opinion.

So, to commemerate that I took the Ganoosh sledding. We had a blast. There is a park just down the street from our house. It has a good hill right next to some apartments. A couple kids were sledding there and then we asked if we could join them. Since the hill was right outside their fron door. You’ll see this in the pics.

Liana couldn’t be stopped. She wanted to slide down the hill constantly. I guess I need to find a bigger hill for her.

I went to Kohl’s to get some Sorel snow boots, after my bro-n-law told me that they had them on sale. I got there and after about 15 minutes they announced that they were closing the store due to weather. So I got  them and hurried out. Then I went to the grocery store and got gas too. The roads were ok, except for our street. It was a bugger trying to get out of our driveway. 15 inches of snow and ice under that makes it difficult.

Here are some pics…….

Heely’s

December 27th, 2006

Have you seen these? I’m sure you have. These are those shoes that have a wheel in the heel, so kids can skate around and walk in the same pair of shoes. Looks like a bunch of fun.

HOWEVER!

How are these allowed in stores when skateboards and rollerblades are not? They all are really the same thing.

Every kid in Albuquerque must have received a pair of these for Christmas. And they were at every store I was at, today. Zippin around on their heely’s, not caring whom or what they ran into. And worst yet are the parents that don’t even care when they run into someone. Unless that someone happens to be me and I tell the kid to be careful. Then the parent cares because big scary man talked angrily to their kid. Which, by the way, also fascinates me. The fact that parents can be so oblivious to their kids behaviour. “Oh he didn’t mean to run into you.” Well, of course not. But if I accidentally ran into their car, with my Durango, I bet they’d sing a different song.

I would really like to see these added to the “no skateboards, rollerblading, bike riding” sign.

Employed again

December 19th, 2006

Man that was a long month.

I just received a call from the president of Networx, Inc. and they want me to come in tomorrow to discuss the benjamins. I am really excited. For two reasons actually.

  1. First off, I have no experience in selling the networking products that they provide. But I still got hired
  2. This is a new arena of sales and product, and seems really cool.

So, I am extremely happy to be employed, but now have to get used to getting up on time and all that.

***an update***

The benjamins are pretty sweet, yea me. The commission is also good, however it may be a quarterly payout. That’ll suck until my first check.

So far, I know that I will mostly be selling imaging products by HP. Networx just received a letter from HP making us a distributor. SWEET! So those of you that know, know I will be hitting up the local lab, LOL! Holman’s watch out, I’m taking your business!

On Friday the 20th, I go back in to do paperwork and get it out of the way. Then I start on Jan 2nd.

In talking with my father and sharing the good news with him, he asked what I would be selling. I told him and he asked me “What do you know about this type of product?” I said, “Nothing”. Then I shared part of the interview with him that went as follows….

Pres of company, “So… Todd… What do you know about selling networking and imaging equipment?”

Todd, “A whole bunch…. of nothing”

Pres if company, “I see…”

So, I tell them I know nothing about the product and I get hired. Hmmmmm, makes me wonder about the others they interviewed.

Children and their unconditional love

December 15th, 2006

Tonight was so sweet. Liana came into the kitchen while I was finishing making dinner and she went up to mammy and gave her a big hug on the leg and said in a very loving voice, “MOMMY!”. You know that voice, that loving, happy and drawn out “MOOOOMMY!” Then she grabs my leg, “DAAAAADDY!” This almost brought tears to my eyes. Then she runs to Mini T, who is sitting on the floor, and says “Bruhder!!!” Ok, now I am in tears. My little girl and her love for her family. I am now realizing I have the perfect family. A two year old loves her parents and brother. This is something that people can only dream about.

And then life was shattered….  ”TeeeeeVeeeee!” and “SOOOOOOOFA!” Those two words were like a bull in a china shop.

car for sale

December 9th, 2006

We’re selling our 2004 Mazda 3. It has 34,000 miles. Power indows and door locks. The keys are coded so you must have them to start the car, this prevents theft. Moon roof, 6 disc in dash CD, am/fm radio, heater and air conditioning, sports package from Mazda which includes upgraded seats, larger disc brakes and suspension. We also have a bra for it as well. Sorry but the rack stays with me. But the “feet” that holds the rack to the car, stays with the car.

It gets 32mpg hwy and that’s with two people, luggage and bikes on the roof.

If you know anyone that may be interested or even if you are, please go to the “contact” tab and send me an email.

Ok, I forgot to add the price.  $15,500.00

A new chapter in raising kids

December 9th, 2006

Our daughter is 2 and a half years old. She is a toddler now and has been for awhile, obviously. Raising a toddler is a whole new set of challenges as they are more mobile, curious and at times coniving.

They are also unaware of consequences. Except maybe in the discipline area. But they are certainey unaware of most consequences. Such as sticking beads up your nose.

It is obvious to me that Liana was very unaware of the consequence of this action. For if she knew what was going to happen, she would have never done it.

pillsbury hardcore!!!!!!!

December 1st, 2006

This is my favorite band from my youth. Back in the 80’s when I was all punk rock I wore out a 7″ that I have of theirs. Well, today I found some of their MP3’s and downloaded 3 songs. Now I just need a few more of their songs and I’ll be very happy. WOOT!
