NO FENCE IN OTERO!!!

June 19th, 2007

This is great news. It looks like we have “won” this battle for the most part. I heard on kkob 770am radio that they are not going to build the fence in Otero canyon that would have restricted much riding and hiking. I can not find an official press release and am only repeating what I heard on the way home from work tonight.

This is great news for all of us bikers and hikers.

Welcome to the world, Quincey George McClair

Anna’s sister has delivered a healthy baby boy at around 4:00am, today. He was 8 pounds 9 ounces and 20.5 inches long. He was a little early but let’s be thankful (I know Chee is) that he was early. Imagine another 2 more weeks cooking. WOW!

Congrats to Rachael and James! And also to AJ, who will be a great big brother. Can’t wait to see you all in Aspen this year.

Happy Fathers Day!!!!

To all you fathers out there, I just want to wish you all a happy New Years.

Need to sell a car

June 14th, 2007

Ok folks, we need prayers and GOOD ONES (sorry for pluralizing ‘one’)

We need to dump the Big D (Durango). I love it, but boy does it suck gas. We need to get rid of it and get something with better gas mileage. We have looked at and found several mini vans that Anna likes and would love to get one. But must wait a little while until we see what I’ll be bringing in on a monthly basis.

Anna is balking at my brilliant idea and I don’t really blame her. I was thinking of selling the D and getting a motorcycle. She can have the Maxima and I ride the motorcycle for a few months until we save a few dollars to put towards a mini-van. She wants to get the mini van but we are unsure what we can afford right now. But we sure can’t afford to keep filling up that big gas tank at these prices.

The hard part is finding someone that wants a gas guzzler. I know their out there but haven’t found them.

A new job

June 9th, 2007

Yes that’s right, I have a new job.

I really like working for Networx, but it has been only a little frustrating because my sales are not where they should be. It has been really hard to close on these deals. I’ve submitted about 300 proposals and closed on about 3. That’s just not the record I’m use to. Selling to the military is brutal.

So, a company that didn’t hire me last year, called me the other day and offered me the position again. They stated that they didn’t hire me last time, thinking that the new manager would have a hard time managing me because of my experience. I told them, that would make his job easier because I know what to do.

So I negotiated a good package. A sweet base raise from what I make now and I will be making sales instantly so commissions will roll right in. This is a blessing, because we really need the money with how much T’s formula costs.

I will be selling hardware and components. Board level components, standoff’s and the like.

Torn ligament

June 9th, 2007

I tore the ligament in my pinky, last weekend. I was working in the yard, on the sprinklers, and while trying to make a small hole my hand slipped and the pinky caught the grass and hyper-flexed. In other words, the tip of my finger rolled under while the rest of it stayed straight. SO now the finger just kind of flops over.

I went to the ER and then the plastic surgeon and will have to have a pin inserted into my finger, to keep it straight. In the hopes of the ligament reattaching itself.

So, there goes biking and hockey. This will take about 8 weeks to heal and then a few weeks of rehab to get my finger to bend again.
