2004 Yamaha R6

April 8th, 2008

What’s that? Well, it’s my new bike! I will be taking possesion of it later this week. I am very excited. It’s in good shape and am getting it for a steal.

I also got my temporary moto endorsement today. The test was pretty easy but I’ll admit I was nervous taking it. Now I just need to go in for the riding test and show them I can turn circles and stop. All without falling over.

Let the accessorising begin! Now, where is that neon light?

Happy almost my birthday to me!

February 9th, 2008

Here it comes. There is no avoiding it. Well, without serious consequences.

My 40th birthday. There were times that I really thought I wouldn’t make it. I know that sounds cliche, however it is true. My late teens to late 20’s were pretty rough. Be that as it may, I did make it.

Well, here’s the skinny. My wife has planned quite the weekend and boy is it cool! First we, and some friends, are off to The County Line for BBQ! Then all of us and maybe a few more will go back to the house for a little desert and drinks. WOOHOO! Then Saturday it is over to the Albuquerque indoor karting, for a dose of go-kart racing, pizza and soda! Then my bro-n-law and I are going to the Linkin Park show, later that night. Finally on Sunday if the snow is good we will be going snowboarding! Quite the weekend for an old guy like me.

Now, the other night I got a call from my sis-n-law up in Denver and she said that AJ (her son) wanted to talk to our daughter on XBOX, so we did that. Well, during that conversation, I learned that they are coming out for my birthday! I am really excited about this. We don’t get to see them as much as we want to and this is going to be great. And just a few weeks after that, we’re going up there to help put in a sprinkler system for their yard. So this year it looks like we will get to see them quite a bit.

Now, I have received a present already and that is my new Canon Rebel XTi. This is a pretty sweet DSLR camera and I am jazzed to have a camera like this. Although it is now another expensive hobby that I have.

people are good

January 19th, 2008

As some of you know, I have issues with people. I’m a big time realist and sometimes can be pessimistic. That is because I read stories of people throwing their kids off of bridges and celebrities being a-holes. I love to think there are great people out there. It’s just that I read, too often, about the bad people.

Well, here is one of the great people in life….

Her name is Teresa and she has a site http://scribblescratch.com/. This is a great person in my opinion.

I was looking for new themes for this site, a site that I am considering making and Anna’s new site. Anna saw Teresa’s site and fell in love with it. She really wanted this theme and I thought I could make something similar. Well, there is no way that I could do something like that. So I sent off an email, to Teresa, and asked about it. Then I started to read her site a little more. Turns out, some yarbole stole her design for their site. So now I feel badly for asking. Teresa wrote back saying she would gladly make something similar for Anna’s site. Let me say, I really like what she did and Anna LOVES IT!

I also love the fact that I did not know whom this person was and she was gracious enough to do this for Anna, after I sent a simple email. So many people believe in the mantra of “tis easier to ask forgiveness, than  to ask for permission”. Well, asking for permission got Anna a sweet site design and no nasty emails saying to stop using a design she ripped off.

I would ask that any of you that read this post, please click on the link and check out her site. She is a very VERY good photographer as well.

Merry Christmas to me! (from work)

December 19th, 2007

WOW! What a surprise today.

UPS showed up and dropped off an envelope to me. I open it and there is a gift certificate! Needless to say, but I’ll still say it, I was surprised.

I could not figure out what it was for and I called and asked people at work but no one knew. As time went on I was really starting to wonder if it was meant for me. Then I get a call from corporate….

“Hi Todd? Did you get a gift card today?”

NOOOO!!!!!!! THEY’RE GOING TO TAKE IT AWAY!

“Yes I did.”

“Congratulations, you won it for making the most telemarketing calls one week during the contest”

Well, I thought someone else did. As it turns out, the person that was announced as the winner, really wasn’t. They miscounted and I actually won.

I am really stoked about this, especially since it will be a big chunk towards the new camera that I want.

Liana and the mormons

September 14th, 2007

Liana heard the doorbell ring, at daycare this morning. So she ran to answer it. She is quite the polite little girl and believes that people should not be kept waiting.

So she answered the door and there stood 2 mormon missionaries.

Oh ya, I almost forgot. She was naked.

I was going to write about the pin being removed from my finger

August 9th, 2007

I got the pin removed from my pinky. This was in there (for 9 weeks) to hold it in place so the ligament would hopefully reattach itself. Well it worked.

But my surgery was nothing compared to Nathan’s….. (click on the pic for the story)

Happy Independence Day!

July 4th, 2007

Take a moment today and reflect on what it means to be free. How we can say what we want about our leaders and not worry about reprisal. How we can travel without papers in our own country and the fact that we have the greatest government on the face of the earth. An representative republic is a great thing and our forefathers knew what we needed.

Now to celebrate it like it is intended, with drinking and blowing stuff up!

A new job

June 9th, 2007

Yes that’s right, I have a new job.

I really like working for Networx, but it has been only a little frustrating because my sales are not where they should be. It has been really hard to close on these deals. I’ve submitted about 300 proposals and closed on about 3. That’s just not the record I’m use to. Selling to the military is brutal.

So, a company that didn’t hire me last year, called me the other day and offered me the position again. They stated that they didn’t hire me last time, thinking that the new manager would have a hard time managing me because of my experience. I told them, that would make his job easier because I know what to do.

So I negotiated a good package. A sweet base raise from what I make now and I will be making sales instantly so commissions will roll right in. This is a blessing, because we really need the money with how much T’s formula costs.

I will be selling hardware and components. Board level components, standoff’s and the like.

Torn ligament

June 9th, 2007

I tore the ligament in my pinky, last weekend. I was working in the yard, on the sprinklers, and while trying to make a small hole my hand slipped and the pinky caught the grass and hyper-flexed. In other words, the tip of my finger rolled under while the rest of it stayed straight. SO now the finger just kind of flops over.

I went to the ER and then the plastic surgeon and will have to have a pin inserted into my finger, to keep it straight. In the hopes of the ligament reattaching itself.

So, there goes biking and hockey. This will take about 8 weeks to heal and then a few weeks of rehab to get my finger to bend again.

site update

May 4th, 2007

Good morning.

I did a little update on the pics section. If you click on the pics tab you will now be taken to a gallery that I uploaded. It should make it a little easier to see pics that we’ve taken.

In fact, I just added a small gallery for the birthday toddlers. So go check it out and tell me what you think. I need to get some skins for it and make it a little less sterile looking.
