Daddy and Daughter day
Last Saturday was a daddy/daughter day. Titus was in the hospital due to some weird complications. We now think he may have had whooping cough. But that’s because of that evil hypocondriac website webMD. More about this later.
So, the Ganoosh and I set off for a day of fun and adventure. It started off with a wonderful breakfast of Cap’n Crunch. )That stuff is amazing. You can leave a box open for two days and it does not go stale.) Then I let her watch a bunch of TV. After awhile she left and did some coloring and playing in her room. At one point I realized that it got really quiet. Too quiet. So I got up to look for her. As I get up, I hear the theme to the Godfather. Hmmm. Then I get to her room and realize that I’m hearing it in my head. I open her door a little more and look in. There she is, asleep on her bed. Then I see it. THERE IS A HORSE HEAD IN HER BED! AAAHHHHH!!!!! Oh, it’s only her little stick pony.
So, she wakes up and we head to the mall. Girls love the mall. We get there and have lunch at Del Taco. Then walk to a few stores to look for a sweatshirt for daddy. She spots the merry-go-round and demands a ride. That’s great. A simple thing to keep her happy. Now it’s time to leave and we walk out to the car. As I put her in, she grabs my hat, throws it to the other side of the car and says, “Where’s your hat daddy?” WHAT THE HECK?! Who taught this child to bully people? At 2 and a half she is already playing keep away. Not only that, but she’s picking on her daddy. The one that just took her on a merry go round and let her have great food! We will be working on that.
So, we head home and she needs another nap. That’s fine because now daddy can watch Gleaming the Cube for a second time.
A couple hours later we head out again. Now we’re at another store and she sees an Xbox controller and says, “Oh wow, wook at dat and it’s my favorite cowor, bwack” HUH?! Since when do 2 year olds have a favorite color? So she tells everyone that walks by, that it is black and her favorite color.
Now I’m looking at other items and she sees a stuffed turtle on the ground and picks it up saying “Wook daddy a bunny.” I tell her it’s a turtle and she says “Oh. Can I have it?” and does that dang eye thing that girls do, that men fall for. She now has another stuffed animal.
Then we head to a sports bar to pick up dinner. (Like the good meals she’s getting?) As we walk in, there is a man wearing a cowboy hat. She turns to him and says, in her cartoon girly voice, ”Howdy partner”. The man just about fell off his bar stool. I’m sure both alcohol and her comment were factors in this.
It seems that Liana is coming into her own and developing quite the personality. As I’ve said many times before, Titus will have a lot to live up to. HA HA.
